The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) revealed Friday it was offered P20 million for the release of a high-profile drug suspect arrested last month.

Government agents arrested Richard Santos Brodett, Jorge Jordana Joseph and Joseph Ramirez Tecson in buy-bust operations in exclusive Ayala Alabang Village, Muntinlupa City and the south gate of Araneta Center in Quezon City on Sept. 20.

The operations were conducted four hours apart. The suspects were busted for allegedly carrying ecstasy, a high-end drug, cocaine and marijuana.

Brodett and Joseph were arrested inside Ayala, Alabang while Tecson was arrested at the parking area of Araneta Center Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City. The PDEA did not name the suspect whose release was being sought.

Apart from possession, the three also tested positive for methamphetamine, cocaine, tetrahydrocannabinol and diazepam.

They underwent inquest proceedings Sept. 21. No bail was recommended for their temporary release. The preliminary investigation was held on Sept. 29.

PDEA information chief Derrick Carreon said their agents had been receiving death threats through text messages.
