Gov. Lilia Pineda clarified on Sunday that the PhilHealth cards known as “yellow cards” distributed under the National Household Targeting System-Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) program came from the national government through President Benigno S. Aquino III.

Pineda said it was only the provincial government which was tasked to distribute the yellow cards to the identified beneficiaries who belong to the poorest of the poor based on the recent census.

Earlier, Pineda distributed 43,612 PhilHealth yellow cards to the marginalized Kapampangan families in all the municipalities in the province under NHTS-PR program.

The national government, with the help of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), has also provided an additional 6,242 yellow cards to the province which the governor is currently distributing to the remaining beneficiaries.

In sum, a total of 49,854 PhilHealth yellow cards have been provided to the province under the program.

With this, the governor thanked President Aquino for continuously supporting her health programs as manifested in the provision of the PhilHealth cards to the poor Kapampangans.

The provincial government, for its part, also subsidized the PhilHealth cards intended for the benefit of at least 4,897 barangay tanods who have no existing health insurance.

Pineda said that barangay tanods deserved to enjoy the benefits of free health care through the PhilHealth cards as they have been active partners of the local police in maintaining peace and order in their respective localities.

PhilHealth cards will give the beneficiaries free access to health care services in all government hospitals and discounts on private hospitals.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
