𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has rescued two fishermen on board a motorbanca after their engine failed in the waters off Brgy. Binuangan, Bagac, Bataan on 20 December 2024.
At approximately 08:03 AM, the Coast Guard Station (CGS) Bataan received a phone call from the District Action Center (DAC) informing them that the motorbanca Martina Leigh had experienced engine failure. The two fishermen on board were identified as Giovannie Austria and Angelo Pilote.
In response, CGS Bataan immediately notified Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Bagac to conduct a search and rescue operation.
On the same date, CGS Bataan received another phone call from DAC and was informed that NCR-CL had requested the deployment of BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409) to assist in the search and rescue operation on the said location.
BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409) has been deployed and at around 12:09 PM, CGS Bataan received a report from BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409), confirming the successful rescue of the two stranded fishermen and at around 09:30 PM BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409) informed them on their plan of docking early the following morning due to unfavorable se condition.
On 21 December 2024, at around 07:30 AM, BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409) arrived at the port of Lamar. Upon their arrival, the rescued fishermen were examined by Brgy. Lamao RHU to assess their vital signs.
After the examination, CGS Bataan personnel, along with CGSS Limay, turned over the rescued fishermen and their fishing banca, Martina Leigh, to Mr. Eugene A Pascual, the niece of one of the rescued fishermen, Mr. Giovannie Austria.
The PCG team then concluded the rescue operation and returned to their respective stations without any further incidents.
