The
Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (PPH) here has become one of the most advanced health care facilities in Region 1 following its acquisition of a state of the arts Digital X-ray never before seen in any hospital in the province.
Gov. Amado Espino Jr. led in the unveiling of the
Digital X-ray that was acquired by the provincial government to make it the most equipped government hospital in the region today.
With Espino in the unveiling rite held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday was Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim and Dr Jackson Soriano, PPH director; and Dr. Policarpio Manuel, chief of clinic.
Espino said the PPH became the only provincial hospital in Region 1 that acquired the Digital X-ray, a gadget which does not need any film to show results and therefore is considered an advancement in diagnostic radiology.
Being film-less, it is more cost-effective than the conventional x-ray machines that the hospital has long been using.
Espino said the other advantage of this equipment is, it does not need a processor and reagents to show result and definitely requires less manpower to run.
The
Digital X-ray is also ideal for learning since the result can be sent through Internet to other Radiology Centers in the country for Interactive discussions. .
Governor Espino also reported that four dialysis machines just arrived at the PPH Wednesday night to be installed at the Intensive Coronary Care Unit (ICCU) for patients admitted there requiring dialysis management.
The provincial government earlier delivered last month 10 cardiac monitor machines for patients with heart diseases. Eight of these units were installed at the ICCU and two others at the operating room.
