Press Release - In a bid to ensure the safe arrival and overall wellbeing of our OVERSEAS FILIPINO WORKERS (OFWs), the One-Stop Shop (OSS) in NAIA Terminals 1, 2 and 3 has been continuously providing all the necessary assistance and service, including the identification of possible isolation facilities where they may take their mandatory quarantine, and to further prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Since the start of operations on 23 April 2020, until yesterday, 24 May 2021, the One-Stop-Shop (OSS) has already served MORE THAN HALF A MILLION OFWs—695,459 to be exact—, with 211,169 OFWs in Terminal 1, 275,052 in Terminal 2 and 209,238 in Terminal 3.
Furthermore, the OSS has also assisted a total of 183,718 Overseas Filipinos (OFs)/tourists since the start of its operations, until yesterday.
As emphasized by DOTr Secretary Art Tugade, providing assistance to our kababayans, such as the OFWs, must be non-stop, as they are considered as our ‘modern day heroes,’ along with our healthworkers, and other frontliners, who make selfless sacrifices, even amid the unprecedented threat of the pandemic, just to ensure the welfare of their families.
The OSS is a joint initiative of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), under the tenacious, and strong-willed leadership of Secretary Arthur Tugade, along with the participation of the Department of Tourism (DOT), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), Office for Transportation Security (OTS), Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ).
