2 NPA LEADERS KILLED IN NEGROS CLASH
On March 8, 2025, two alleged regional leaders of the New People's Army (NPA) were killed in a clash with troops of the Philippine Army's 79th Infantry (Masaligan) Battalion (IB) at Hacienda Paraiso, Barangay Caduha-an, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
The fatalities were identified as Hans Ponteras alias Jojo/Lance/Teddy/Mojo, acting regional front secretary, finance officer and head of Regional Taxation Implementing Group of Komiteng Rehiyon - Negros, Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor; and Marissa Pobresa, alias Kim/Renz/Mia, a former member of Squad 1 of Sentro de Grabidad Platoon-Central Negros 1 who also served as primary staff of Ponteras and current regional communication officer.
