ILOILO CITY -- Policemen on Friday searched the house of Maasin Vice Mayor Francis Amboy for illegal guns and ammunition but yielded negative results.
Amboy, included in the narco-list of President Rodrigo Duterte, was allegedly in possession and control of caliber .45 pistol, 9mm pistol, assorted ammunition, magazine assemblies and accessories, which he reportedly kept inside his residence at Confesor Subdivision, Mabini, Maasin, Iloilo.
The joint team of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) and the Maasin Municipal Police Station (MPS) was armed with a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court-6 Branch 31 acting presiding judge Gemalyn Faunillo- Tarol.
The search, however, turned “negative” as nothing was recovered from the residence of the elected official, said Police Chief Inspector Jonathan Pinuela, chief of the IPPO intelligence unit, who led the implementation of the warrant.
Amboy, meantime, was appreciative that the police operatives followed the right process in implementing the search warrant.
He admitted that he used to have a 9mm pistol but he already surrendered it to the Maasin MPS after its license expired. (PNA)
