NIA- Antique distributes 22 units of shallow tube wells to four LGUs

SAN JOSE de BUENAVISTA, Antique, Dec. 15 (PNA) -- National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Antique Managerial Office distributed 22 units of shallow tube wells (STW) to four municipalities in the province namely Tibiao, Laua-an, Sebaste and Bugasong.

Barangay Pangalcagan, Bugasong and Tibiao each received six units of STW with Php 1,345,908.50 allotted budget while Barangay Casit-an Laua-an and Barangay Abiera, Sebaste has the same budget allotment of Php 1,082,988.50 for five units of STW each.

Each unit of tube well was projected to irrigate 6 hectares and a total of 132 hectares will be irrigated by 22 units of shallow tube wells. These will benefit the farmers who have farms around the municipalities where these wells are located. The project started this December and hopefully be completed by January 2017.

The undertaking of NIA got its allocation from the national office and has no counterpart from the LGU concerned. (PNA)
