DUMAGUETE CITY – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has scheduled a power service interruption on Saturday in some parts of Negros Oriental for maintenance and other operations.
The power service interruption will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. in areas serviced by the Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative I and II (NORECO I) and (NORECO II), confirmed Michelle Visera of NGCP-Visayas on Friday.
According to Visera, this is to make up for an earlier schedule that NGCP had postponed to a later date.
NORECO I areas to be affected are Bais, Bindoy and Guihulngan sub-stations, she said.
NORECO II areas to be affected are the towns of Pamplona, Tanjay City and Amlan. NORECO II said their Tanjay sub-station will be affected.
Visera explained the specific areas to be affected are determined by the distribution utilities, namely, NORECO I and NORECO II.
This is a rescheduling of the power service interruption which was cancelled last July 16, said NORECO II.
NGCP will de-energize its Amlan-Guihulngan 69kV transmission line, which conveys power to NORECO II’s Tanjay sub-station to conduct the activities, such as the APMS of Amlan 50MVA TR-1 and correction of low vertical clearance along Bindoy-Guihulngan 69kV transmission line.
NGCP will also conduct replacement of rotten cross-arms along Amlan-Bindoy and along Bindoy-Guihulngan 69kV transmission lines and replacement of insulators along Amlan-Bindoy and Bindoy-Guihulngan 69kV transmission line. (PNA)
