Isabela town placed under calamity status due to dengue outbreak

LUNA, Isabela, July 1 (PNA) -- This town in the third district of Isabela has been declared under the state of calamity following a dengue outbreak here.
Luna Mayor Jaime Atayde has reported at least 33 villagers who were afflicted with dengue fever in the past weeks aside from those brought to private hospitals.
The patients were eventually treated and survived.
Vice Mayor Andy Domingo and the town councilors have unanimously approved a resolution declaring Luna under calamity state due to the onslaught of dengue cases.
At least P500,000 has been earmarked from the calamity fund of the local government for fogging operations and financial assistance to affected families.
Due to the hike of cases, Atayde asked village officials to lead information drive on dengue prevention.(PNA)
