Seven persons died while two others were wounded in separate incidents during the New Year's Eve celebrations in Manila, the police reported.

Inspector Armando Macaraeg, chief of the MPD-Homicide Section, identified the fatalities as Rayner Pallones, 26, of Old Sta. Mesa, Manila; Noel Leonardo, 45, of Tondo; Rodel Rodriguez, 19, of Sta. Ana; Jemar Rupatan, Ronel Alontoc, Jesus Latude Jr., of Sta. Cruz; and Elpidio de Juan, 28, of Tondo.

The incidents occurred between 9 p.m. Friday until 4 a.m. Saturday.

Police said Pallones was stabbed by a certain “Ricky” while trying to pacify a quarrel.

De Juan was shot dead while his aunt, Reynalda, was wounded after being hit by astray bullet in the leg. De Juan’s nephew, James Magal, 10, was also wounded by stray bullet which hit him in the foot.

Alontoc, Latude, Rupatan and Rodriguez were stabbed dead by unidentified assailants while having a drinking spree.

Leonardo, on the other hand, committed suicide inside their house on Masinop St. Tondo, at 10:30 p.m. Friday, police investigators said. (PNA)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. - John 3:16-18
