The provincial government of Negros Oriental has acquired two more heavy equipment to bolster its capacity to undertake programs and projects throughout the province.
The brand new Shantui bulldozers from China is purchased at P17 million through a Provincial Development Council resolution, in addition to an acquisition of heavy equipment earlier this year as part of the envisioned engineering mobile teams for the province.
Gov. Roel Degamo disclosed the two bulldozers will form part of three engineering mobile teams, each of which will consist of one bulldozer, road roller, grader, backhoe, payloader and four dumptrucks.
He said two mobile engineering teams are almost complete and that he is hoping all the three teams will be completed as soon as possible for use in the rehabilitation of damaged infrastructure and construction of facilities for disaster preparedness, funding of which comes from 70 percent of the 2010 calamity fund and a portion of the 2011 calamity fund.
The governor said the provincial government is buying brand new heavy equipment to save on maintenance costs and for efficient work.
