MMDA traffic enforcers receive new hand-held radio phones
MANILA, Jan. 3 (PNA) -- -- Around 2,000 traffic enforcers of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will be receiving new hand-held radio phones for efficient traffic management in Metro Manila.
MMDA General Manager Thomas Orbos said the new communications equipment will strengthen the existing communication assets of the agency for traffic direction and management.
“These hand-held radio phones will be of great help to our traffic enforcers especially in managing traffic flow in Metro Manila,†according to Orbos.
The MMDA chief said that the hand-held radios were donated by an anonymous organization from the private sector.
Furthermore, the personnel of the agency who will be injured or figured in an accident will be insured of hospitalization of up to PHP40,000 which was also donated by two companies.
Orbos said the support to its field personnel is important in boosting their morale as they perform their duties in the field.
“The MMDA leadership wants to assure field personnel that they will get all of the support the agency could give them to ensure that they will deliver quality public service,†Orbos said.
He also stated that support of private companies continues to pour in to show their gratitude and appreciation to the efforts and initiatives of the Inter-Agency Council on Traffic (I-ACT) in easing the traffic congestion in Metro Manila. (PNA)
