The Bureau of Immigration (BI) deported recently seven Chinese who were arrested last month at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) for attempting to leave the country with spurious travel documents.
BI officer-in-charge Ronaldo Ledesma said the aliens were deported last Sept. 22 via a China Southern Airlines flight to Xiamen.
The deportees were identified as Lu Chuanhan, Fu Gongyong, Lin Xingqing, He Shufang, He Shutai, Ke Xingfa and Li Bao.
Ledesma said the aliens were expelled pursuant to a deportation order issued by the BI board of commissioners last Sept. 16.
The board also banned them from re-entering the Philippines and placed them on the immigration blacklist.
The foreigners were intercepted at the NAIA 3 departure area last Sept. 4 as they were about to board a Cebu Pacific flight to Shanghai.
They were off-loaded after immigration officers found their passports bore fake immigration departure stamps.
Lawyer Arvin Santos, BI airport operations division chief, said the passengers later admitted upon questioning that they had been overstaying in the country.
