Low Pressure Area Spotted Off Visayas
« on: September 11, 2013, 08:44:50 AM »
The low pressure area (LPA) spotted off Visayas has already enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Wednesday.

PAGASA weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said that as of 4 a.m, the LPA was seen at 830 km east of Visayas (12.5°N, 134.0°E) embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) across Luzon and Visayas.

Aurelio said the potential cyclone still too far to affect the country but the ITCZ will continue to bring light to moderate rainshowers in most parts of the country including Metro Manila.

He said the agency’s numerical models continued to show that the weather disturbance has a high chance to become a tropical depression since “it is still in the sea, where it could pick up more moisture.”

He said it will be named “Odette” once it intensifies into a cyclone.

However, Aurelio noted that if the potential cyclone maintains its present “northwest” track, it is not likely to make landfall in any part of the country.

He reiterated that it will just pass over the eastern side of the country by the sea.

Meanwhile, Aurelio said that Luzon including Metro Manila and the eastern section of the Visayas will continue to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with passing light to moderate rains until today because of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

He also advised the public that those who will join the EDSA prayer rally -- scheduled 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today -- to bring umbrella due to the expected rains brought by thunderstorms.

Mindanao and the rest of the Visayas, on the other hand, he noted will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with possible afternoon or evening rains.

In its advisory, PAGASA said Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Visayas and Caraga regions will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.

It added that the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA also said that light to moderate winds blowing from the southwest to southeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the southwest to west over Visayas and Mindanao.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
