DAVAO CITY (PNA) – Twenty-six of the 37 charred bodies recovered inside the NCCC Mall in Davao City have already been identified, as of 11 p.m. Tuesday, by the authorities thru their relatives and friends and from the possession recovered with the bodies.
In the City Government’s official list, 26 fatalities were positively-identified, as follows:

The foreign-sounding name in the initial list, Hongijangjian, was meanwhile removed from the official list as authorities suspect the earlier information was either an error or a prank. The person who listed the name cannot be contacted.
On Tuesday afternoon, Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio visited the wake of some of the victims who perished in the Dec. 23 mall fire and condoled with the grieving families. She also assured them of support.
