NBI ARRESTS THREE FOR ESTAFA AND USE OF ALIASES
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) announced the arrest of CHARITO COMENDADOR a.k.a. “JULIETA DE ASIS y SANCHEZ”, MA. LIEZEL HERNANDEZ y IGNACIO a.k.a. “MARITES TORES y REYES”, and LOLITA GALERO y GARAY by the operatives of NBI-Bulacan District Office (NBI-BULDO) in an entrapment operation in Guiguinto, Bulacan for violations of Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC) and Commonwealth Act No. 142 (An Act to Regulate the Use of Aliases).
The operation stemmed from a complaint filed by the victim of the 3 above-named subjects alleging that the latter connived with each other and used other names for their modus operandi. Subject Ignacio offered a mortgage of a land title allegedly owned by a certain JULIETA DE ASIS who was later identified as Subject Comendador.
Believing in the representations of Subject Comendador, the complainant gave Php500,000.00 as mortgage amount and a “Kasulatan ng Sanglaan” was then signed by both parties.
After sometime, the complainant discovered that the document presented and given to her by Subject Comendador was a falsified document and it was confirmed thru the heir of the real JULIETA DE ASIS that the subject property is not for mortgage. Also, Subjects were demanding additional mortgage money from the complainant.
Thus, the complainant proceeded to the office of NBI-BULDO and filed a complaint against the 3 Subjects. The complainant was advised to agree with the demand of the Subjects and planned an entrapment operation. The Subjects and the complainant agreed to meet in a fast food chain in Guiguinto, Bulacan for the additional mortgage money.
On September 2, 2022, Agents of NBI-BULDO proceeded to the agreed meeting place. Upon handing over of the entrapment money, the operatives immediately approached and arrested the subjects.
NBI-BULDO was able to seize the entrapment money, Conditional Deed of Sale signed by Subject Comendador and her cohorts, Subjects Hernandez and Torres, as witnesses; acknowledgement receipt by Subject Comendador; one (1) cellphone; one (1) BIR I.D. of Subject Comendador; and a Philhealth ID under the name of Subject Comendador.
The arrested Subjects were presented for Inquest proceedings
before the City Prosecutor’s Office of Malolos City.
