One person was hurt after armed security guards stormed the headquarters of the IT provider of the Land Transportation Office in Quezon City Thursday morning.
Transportation and Communications Secretary Jose "Ping" de Jesus said in a radio interview that at least four shots were fired from the scene as the group also barricaded the Stradcom office.
Colonel Rolando Hidalgo, president of security office of Stradcom, was wounded after a group of men forcibly took over the said office.
The group was led by Aderito Yujuico and Bonifacio Sumbillo who have questioned the leadership of Cesara Quiambao as president of Stradcom.
"Our main concern now is to protect the database," De Jesus said over radio station dzBB.
Stradcom is an LTO contractor which provides database and other IT services to the LTO up to 2013.
Stradcom, in a statement, said that “Stradcom would like to inform the public that some persons, namely Messrs. Yujuico, Sumbillo, Rodolfo A. Millare, Ronnie M. Bilang, Enrico M. Bilang, Egy G. Geron, and Jer B. Samson have been circulating falsified documents saying they are now stockholders, board of directors, and officers of the company. These people are not connected with the company in any manner or form.- PNA
