KALIBO, Aklan -- The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) will start collecting parking fees at the Kalibo International Airport (KIA) this September 20.
According to an advisory issued by Kalibo airport management, all vehicles parked at the airport premises will be charged PHP20 for the first two hours; and PHP10 for succeeding hours. The notice was first posted on August 24.
Kalibo Airport Manager Efren Nagrama, in a press statement issued Friday, said the charging of parking fees is pursuant to CAAP Authority Order No. 140-14 dated June 10, 2014.
Government vehicles, airport employees, concessionaires, and transport service, meanwhile, can avail of a CAAP parking sticker which gives them parking privileges valid for a year.
The sticker can be availed for a fee prescribed by CAAP.
The Kalibo airport is one of the busiest airports in the country, catering to both domestic and international flights. It is a gateway to the world-famous island of Boracay. (PNA)
