DUMAGUETE CITY — Six suspected drug personalities were arrested while an estimated PHP250,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized during three separate police operations in Negros Oriental early this week.
A report from the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) said that on Tuesday, two of them were arrested in this capital city and in nearby Valencia town.
At around 4 p.m., police operatives, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Oriental team, arrested Robert Ybañez Piñez, 31, single, of Boloc-boloc, Sibulan, Negros Oriental, during a buy-bust operation at Purok Madasigon in Barangay Cantil-e here.
Seized from him were some 15 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of PHP102,000.
Earlier, at around 3:40 p.m., police and PDEA personnel arrested Diomedes Ombas Melon, 43, single, a resident of Purok 5 in Barangay East Balabag, Valencia town, also in a buy-bust operation in that barangay.
The operatives confiscated 0.60 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated DDB value of PHP4,080.
Meanwhile, four suspected drug pushers were arrested during a buy-bust operation on Monday at around 4:51 p.m. at Canlas Subdivision in Barangay Bagacay here.
The suspects were identified as Janette Dunque Libradilla, 34, female, of the said subdivision; Jumar Cabreros Estoras; Jimboy Libradilla Almenzo, 41, male, of Barangay Tinago in this capital city; and Marycris Almenzo Peras, 32, single, male, also of Barangay Tinago.
The operation yielded more or less 21 grams of suspected shabu with a DDB value of PHP142,800.
The suspects are now detained as charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are being readied against them. (PNA)
