Department of Health Officer-in-Charge Dr. Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire today led the launch and ribbon cutting ceremony of the newly established Catheterization Laboratory in Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH) in San Fernando, Pampanga.
DOH Undersecretary Enrique Tayag, DOH Assistant Secretary Nenita Gorgolon, former President and Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Provincial Vice-Governor Lilia Pineda, and JBLMGH Medical Center Chief Dr. Monserrat Chichioco also graced the event.
The newly built laboratory provides services of interventional cardiac procedures, and non-cardiac procedures under interventional radiology, both vascular and non-vascular.
In her message, OIC-Vergeire highlighted the quick construction of the newly developed facility under the Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP), which can now cater to patients in need.
“The DOH, through the HFEP and in coordination with provincial and local government units, will continue to work and invest in our healthcare system. We hope that there comes a day that we will no longer send patients outside of the region, because we have a facility such as JBLMGH that can cater to all diseases that our patients may be confronted with.” said OIC-Vergeire.
