JOANNA DEMAFELIS INTERMENT SET FOR MARCH 3

Joanna Demafelis will be laid to rest on Saturday, March 3, the Philippine Association of Agencies Accredited to Kuwait (PHILAAK) learned when they visited her wake and met her bereaved family over the weekend.

PHILAAK Chairman Thelma Uanang and other PHILAAK representatives handed over to Eva Demafelis, mother of Joanna, their group’s donation of P200,000 during their visit to the wake.

It so happened that Senator Win Gatchalian arrived at the wake minutes after and while the PHILAAK representatives were still there, so the group assured the senator from Valenzuela that they will keep attending the Senate hearings on the case of Joanna Demafelis and the plight of OFWs.

For his part, Senator Gatchalian said he will communicate again with the PHILAAK soon and see to it that they are invited again to the Senate hearings.

Meanwhile, the PHILAAK appreciate the concerns and suggestions of Senator Joel Villanueva, Senator Cynthia Villar, Senator Manny Pacquiao, and Rep. Bernadette Herrera-Dy and Rep. Salvador Belaro Jr.

PHILAAK said it agrees with the stance of Sen. Villanueva and Rep. Herrera-Dy that Kuwait be persuaded to be a signatory to and ratify several international conventions on the protection and welfare of migrant workers.

PHILAAK also welcomes the suggestion of Rep. Belaro that the PDOS be improved and be implemented by state universities and colleges so that PDOS effectiveness, accessibility, and cost will favor OFWs.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
