CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Feb. 14 (PNA) --The Philippine National Police Regional Office 3 (PNP-PRO3) based here on Monday launched an impact project dubbed as "I-Text Mo, Aksyonan Ko!" PRO 3 Text Volunteer Brigade.
Central Luzon PNP head, Chief Supt. Allan LM Purisima, said that the project is aimed at further gaining the trust and confidence of the community and generate support from the public.
Purisima said that it is also an added avenue for the public to gain access to the PNP.
Present during the launching ceremony held at the Camp Olivas Multi-Purpose Hall was Chief PNP, Police Director General Raul M. Bacalzo, who served as the guest of honor and speaker.
Purisima said the project is a short messaging system wherein volunteers may send through text their complaints, requests for assistance, relay important information and report crime incidents and be assured of action on their report and feedback.
This would be advantageous to the PNP for better law enforcement, the Central Luzon police chief said.
It also aims to raise the level of people's cooperation and reduce the level of fear as they can easily report crime incidents, unnecessary incidents and information through text messaging without the necessity of divulging their identities, Purisima said. - PNA
