Inventors take the spotlight at Radyo Pilipinas
Some Filipino inventors took center stage as they were interviewed by veteran host Rolly “Lakay” Gonzalo at “Kita mo na? Galing ng Pinoy” program by Radyo Pilipinas DZRB-AM, sharing practices and experiences on technology generation, development, and marketing.
The radio program owned by the Philippine Broadcasting Service also known as Bureau of Broadcast Services is produced by the Filipino Inventors Society Producer Cooperative (FISPC) as stories focus on the success of Filipino inventor-entrepreneurs as they become powerhouse name and contribute to national development.
Consistent with providing assistance to Filipino inventors, the Technology Application and Promotion Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-TAPI) has provided a list of inventors assisted by the Institute to be featured in the said program for February.
The Institute’s promotional initiatives for previously and currently assisted inventors are in complementary with the technical and financial assistance provided by DOST-TAPI particularly the Industry-Based Invention Development (IBID) and Invention-Based Enterprise Development (IBED) programs.
The IBID program involves technical and financial assistance for the development and initial commercialization of inventions, including fabrication of commercial prototype model of the invention in a real working environment. Likewise, the IBED program supports invention development into business enterprise by making the invention available to the consumers.
“The programs encourage inventors to generate demand-oriented invention, hasten technology transfer for economic and social development,” said Mechelle D. Balboa, Program Manager of IBID and IBED programs.
The inventions featured in the radio program include the unsinkable porta-boat, high-pressure recovering equipment, mosquito larvicide, grooved perforated carburetor nozzle, fluid distribution network, pre-cast composite black panel, water saving toilet and bathroom assembly, increasing dissolved or stabilized oxygen in water process, and in-line water purification and sterilization apparatus, all of which are beneficiaries of the IBID and/or IBED programs.
“Kita mo na? Galing ng Pinoy” is aired every Saturday and Sunday from 8 to 9 PM on DZRB 738khz AM.
