Police are looking into several possible motives behind the shooting of a village official who is also the incoming chairman of the Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative (Zamcelco) board.
Rolando Gregorio, 55, a councilor of Upper Calarian village, suffered a bullet wound in the neck when shot Wednesday night by one of two men riding tandem in a motorcycle.
The police learned that Gregorio was playing a card game with some of his nephews when the gunmen arrived. One of the assailants alighted from the motorcycle and shot the victim with a handgun.
They fled amid the commotion in the area.
Gregorio's relatives rushed the victim to a private hospital where he is confined for treatment. - Sun Star Daily
