The remains of former Defense Secretary Angelo Reyes was taken to the Arlington Funeral Homes on Araneta Avenue, Quezon City Tuesday noon.
Reports reaching the Department of National Defense (DND) in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, said Reyes’ remains will be available for public viewing. The Reyes family members said there will be changes in the funeral schedule. Interment will be announced later.
In a related development, the Marikina Police Station-Scene of the Crime Operatives (MPS-SOCO) recovered a bullet slug of a caliber .45 pistol near the grave of Reyes’ mother at the Loyola Memorial Park (LMP) in Marikina City.
Reyes, bearing a bullet wound in his chest, believed to be self-inflicted, was rushed to the Quirino Memorial Hospital at around 7:30 a.m. coming from the Loyola Memorial Park at nearby Marikina City where he visited the tomb of his mother.
He was pronounced dead at around 8:45 a.m. by attending physicians at the hospital, according to Health Secretary Enrique Ona. The Quirino Memorial Hospital is a DOH-run facility. - PNA
