ILOILO CITY – The city government here has identified places where selling of flowers in connection with the observance of the All Saints' and All Souls' Day is allowed.
Acting city mayor Jose Espinosa III has signed an Executive Order designating the places and requirements in ensuring the safe and orderly conduct of selling flowers.
The selling is allowed starting October 30 until November 1 in designated places that include Aldeguer and Rizal St (outside central market) in City Proper district; Barangay Katilingban, Molo; Onate, Mandurriao; Barangays El 98, Desamparados and Seminario, Jaro; Lapaz market, Lapaz; and Sta. Filomena fronting the police station in Arevalo.
Meanwhile, Jeck Conlu, chief of the Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO), said that starting today until Friday, the city hall vendors could already secure their special permit from the Business Permits Licensing Office (BPLO).
He added that except for the special permit, garbage and barangay fees, there are no additional payment that would be charged to vendors.
Conlu also stressed that vendors are not allowed to display their products in city sidewalks.
He cited that task force ASIS and the Special Services Unit have been ordered to remove any vendors or structures placed in unauthorized areas. (PNA)
