DASMARIÑAS CITY, Cavite -- Nominations are now open for the search for exemplary Caviteños, who have served their people and the province but remain unrecognized.
Rosanni Recreo Sarile, Director of De La Salle University in Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) Marketing Communications Office, told PNA that the “Gawad Caviteño: Isang Parangal Para sa Natatanging Caviteño” is a continuation of the legacy of its “Gawad Bayani” search for modern-day heroes that was launched in 1993.
She said the “Gawad Caviteño” award aims to recognize Cavite’s men and women who have achieved great things in their own field and have shown distinguished courage and noble qualities.
The nomination has six categories on Cooperative, Business, Environment, Volunteer Service, Teaching/Education and the Police.
Deadline for submission of entries will be on Nov. 29 and a list of qualified candidates for final interview will be posted on Jan. 28, 2018.
The formal “Gawad” or awarding rites will be held on March 7, 2018, in time for the university’s LasalliansDays Festival 2018.
