The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has scheduled an 11 – hour brownout affecting all towns and city in the first district of Ilocos Sur on Tuesday, September 25.
According to NGCP Public Affairs Officer Lilibeth P. Gaydowen, the brownout will start at 7:00 a.m till 6:00 pm., so the agency can conduct its annual preventive maintenance and testing of 50-megavolt ampere (MVA) power transformer No. 1 and its associated equipment at Bantay (Ilocos Sur) substation with simultaneous line repair and maintenance along the affected 69kV transmission lines.
She said the annual preventive maintenance and testing will be conducted in the substations of Ilocos Sur Electric Cooperative (ISECO) in Vigan City and in Santo Domingo covering the towns and city of the first district of Ilocos Sur that include Sinait, Cabugao, San Juan, Magsingal, Santo Domingo, San Ildefonso, Bantay, San Vicente, Santa Catalina, Caoayan and Vigan City.
It was reported that the normal operation of power in the affected areas will automatically resume upon completion of the work. - by pna.gov.ph
