ZAMBOANGA CITY, Aug. 10 -- An estimated P94 million worth of properties went up in smoke in a six and a half-hour fire that razed a commercial establishment in this city, an official said Thursday.
Chief Insp. Clint Cha, Zamboanga City Fire District (ZCFD) marshal, said the fire started at 10 p.m. Wednesday and was contained around 4:30 a.m. Thursday.
Razed was the Maker’s Sales Center located along Gov. Camins Avenue in Barangay Camino Nuevo. It sells different kinds of dry goods to include house and kitchen wares.
It is owned by the Unirich Corp., whose shareholders consist of Taiwanese businessmen.
Cha said they exerted all efforts to contain the blaze within the sales center since the adjacent establishment is a gasoline station.
Cha said they have yet to determine the cause of the fire that reached fifth alarm. (PNA)
