TUGUEGARAO CITY -- The Department of Trade and Industry in Region 2 (DTI-2) has advised consumers to be extra cautious in buying Christmas lights and decorations to avoid fire and other untoward incidents.
DTI-2 Information Officer Manilyn Ponce warned Tuesday that there are substandard Christmas decorations and lights in the market bearing fake International Commodity Clearance (ICC) which can be dangerous if not properly scrutinized.
Ponce advised the public to verify the authenticity of ICC marks or stickers on these products.
With this, the DTI-2 has already started to monitor business establishments in the city and other municipalities.
Consumers may report to the DTI any establishments selling substandard Christmas decorations so that proper action maybe taken against the violators. (PNA)
