TULOY ANG "HATID TULONG" PARA SA OFWs
Press Release - In response to the call of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to render full assistance to our repatriated OFWs, the Department of Transportation joins the National Task Force for COVID-19, and concerned government agencies, in establishing the Hatid-Tulong Program, to assist and transport our stranded OFWs in Metro Manila back to their respective provinces.
As of 28 May 2021, the ‘Hatid-Tulong Program' has assisted and served a total of 575,757 OFWs, 176,411 of which were transported by land (from May 25, 2020 to May 27, 2021), 300,536 using air transport (from May 25, 2020 - May 28, 2021), and via sea transport 98,810 (from April 27, 2020 - May 28, 2021).
The Hatid-Tulong Program is a joint initiative of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), under the leadership of Secretary Arthur Tugade, together with the participation of the Office of the President, National Task Force Covid-19, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Tourism (DOT), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Office for Transportation Security (OTS), Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), Land Transportation Office (LTO), and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
