The National Renewable Energy Board (NREB) endorsed to the DOE Secretary various RE policy mechanisms. 

To get the widest possible inputs from the stakeholders, a public consultation nationwide is needed before the issuance of corresponding Department Circulars. 

The Department of Energy (DOE), upon recommendation by the NREB, hereby issues, adopts and promulgates the rules and regulations on the Green Energy Option Program (GEOP). 

The purpose of thr GEOP is to empower end-users to choose Renewable Energy in meeting their energy requirements. 

Meanwhile, the Renewable Energy Market (REM) Rules is tasked to issue, keep and verify Renewable Energy (RE) Certificates corresponding to energy generated from eligible RE facilities.
