News Negros Oriental: Roel Degamo takes his oath before President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as the Governor of Negros Oriental this afternoon, Oct. 5, 2022, at the Malacañang Palace in Manila.
He was sworn in together with NTF-ELCAC Executive Director Emmanuel Buenaflor, along with cameramen and photojournalists covering the Palace.
Degamo earlier released a video saying he issued an order that all affairs and transactions of the governor’s office must be coursed through him.
But Gov. Pryde Henry Teves maintained that only a Supreme Court decision or a DILG order nullifying his assumption and installation can make him vacate his seat as the province’s chief executive. Teves also held a press conference today outlining plans for the upcoming Buglasan this October.
