Gov't employees affected by typhoon can avail of 5-day special emergency leave -- CSC Bicol
By Connie B. Destura

LEGAZPI CITY, Jan. 10 (PNA) -- The Civil Service Commission (CSC) in Bicol has reminded government employees affected by the recent typhoon Nina that they can avail of a five-day special emergency leave so they can attend to personal needs that were disrupted by the calamity.

Lyn Navio, CSC spokesperson, in an interview Tuesday, said the special leave is based on Memo-Circular No. 2, s2012 that was issued on February 8, 2012.

The memo allows the leave for employees stranded in affected areas and are suffering from illnesses caused by natural disasters.

Government workers who are taking care of immediate family members affected by natural calamities and repairing and cleaning damaged houses are also allowed to take the five-day leave.

Navio said the emergency leave can be applied for five straight working days or on a staggered basis.

“It will not be deducted from the employee's leave credit,” she said.

Navio said the government worker can avail of the leave “30 days from the first day that the province was declared under a state of calamity.”

She added the head of office shall take full responsibility for the grant of special emergency leave and should be able to verify the employee's eligibility to be granted the leave.

In Bicol, the provinces of Albay, Catanduanes and Camarines Sur were declared under a state of calamity on December 26 last year due to the devastation wrought by typhoon Nina. (PNA)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
