GLOBE STARTS BLOCKING SMS WITH CLICKABLE LINKS
Telco giant Globe Telecom Inc. on Friday announced that it has started blocking text messages containing clickable links in an effort to further prevent digital fraudulent activities.
This measure comes after targeted smishing attempts that bear complete names of users were reported.
“Globe made the announcement amid escalating reports of scam and spam messages, including SMS from unknown numbers that bear customers’ complete names. Initiated this week, this new measure will block the delivery of person-to-person text messages coming from all networks that contain clickable links,” it said in the statement.
