GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite - Around 1,000 Cavite youth leaders will converge here on Friday as the city government hosts the 6th Youth Leaders Summit, themed: “Young Caviteños, Partners in Fulfilling Change,” at the Cultural and Convention Center here.
The Youth Summit aims to enhance the skills and capabilities of Cavite’s youth leaders from various school-based and out-of-school organizations.
Francis Kong, respected businessman and director of Inspire Leadership Consultancy, will lead the roll of speakers for the Youth Summit, according to Len Kempis of the city’s Office of Youth Affairs and Sports Development (OYASD).
Kempis said the summit was initially organized to serve the youth city-wide, until it was conducted province-wide, “because we want the whole Caviteño youth to benefit from this event.”
Joining Kong is writer-novelist from Indang town, Maria Ana Meresa Cruzate, who penned a popular book among the youth titled “Not So Happy Ending.”
Summit participants could register starting 7 a.m. on Friday for the day-long program from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
City Mayor Antonio Ferrer will lead local officials including Congressman Luis Ferrer, Vice Mayor Maurito Sison, Sangguniang Panlungsod members, Provincial Board Member Kerby Salazar and officers of the JCI General Trias Katipunan.
General Trias is now Cavite’s newest 1st class component city which became a finalist of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (PCCI) “Most-Friendly Local Government Unit.”
The city was cited for its outstanding efforts in promoting trade and investments, employment, transparency, accountability and efficiency in delivering business services to fuel inclusive growth. (PNA)
