SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – Antique has recorded four additional confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the province's total number to nine.
The latest confirmed cases are from the municipality of Pandan in northern Antique, and Semirara Island, according to the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO).
There are now five cases in Pandan and four in Semirara, Caluya town.
“We are sad to announce that there are some more Covid-19 confirmed patients in Pandan,” IPHO chief Dr. Ric Noel Naciongayo said during the Inter-Agency Task Force for Covid-19 press conference on Monday.
The result was released by the Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) sub-national laboratory on Sunday, April 19.
Naciongayo said the newly-confirmed patients had exposure with the first Covid-19 case in the said municipality whose result was released on April 9.
“These patients were identified during the contact tracing last April 10 to 12. They are now in a stable medical condition,” he said.
He said the new cases are now in a patient care center, which was set up in Pandan, and being monitored by the municipality’s health officials.
The new cases are two male patients who are both home-quarantined and two female patients who are being facility-quarantined, according to the Department of Health report released on Monday. (PNA)
