None of the victims were themselves the ones lighting fireworks but were merely bystanders, according to GMA reporter Steve Dailisan.

The hospital has treated a total of 70 fireworks injuries since December 21. - GMANews.TV

Last year I wrote a pretty graphic warning on fireworks including a picture of an exposed flesh ans skull an injury from a result of a firework that went west instead of straight up into the sky to fill it with color.
The victim was in his 50's and was a spectator to the fireworks in the sky, but one of the shells from the box had gone straight into his head.
He lived and is doing fine.
I was able to get a picture of the victim and his injury and used it in my write up.
In the states we are not allowed to handle the large bloomers like the one's you see in the skies.
That is unless you are a trained pyrotechnician.

This year was a depressing New Years Eve here in Bohol it is truly crisis here and there are not so many fireworks or people roaming about like in years gone by past people just do not have the funds to buy as much this year.
