Malacanang on Tuesday said the government is ready to assist Filipinos in the United States who will be affected by Hurricane "Sandy."

"As Hurricane Sandy batters the Eastern Seaboard of the United States, we extend our sympathies and support to all those affected by this calamity. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of those who are facing these difficult times, among them the Filipino-American community," said Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte at a press briefing in Malacanang Tuesday.

"The government is ready to assist Filipinos residing in the US who will be affected by Hurricane Sandy," she said.

Valte said the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is closely monitoring the situation, stressing that no Filipino yet was reported affected by the extreme weather disturbance.

According to the latest CNN report, though no longer a hurricane, "post-tropical"/ Super Storm Sandy packed a hurricane-sized punch as it slammed into the Jersey Shore on Monday, killing at least 13 people from West Virginia to North Carolina and Connecticut.

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, be merciful....

Lord, King and Father unbegotten, True Essence of the Godhead, have mercy on us.
Lord, Fount of light and Creator of all things, have mercy on us.
Lord, Thou who hast signed us with the seal of Thine image, have mercy on us.
Christ, True God and True Man, have mercy on us.
Christ, Rising Sun, through whom are all things, have mercy on us.
Christ, Perfection of Wisdom, have mercy on us.
Lord, vivifying Spirit and power of life, have mercy on us.
Lord, Breath of the Father and the Son, in Whom are all things, have mercy on us.
Lord, Purger of sin and Almoner of grace, we beseech Thee abandon us not because of our Sins, O Consoler of the sorrowing soul, have mercy on us.
