The Department of Justice (DOJ) is set to file a complaint against ABS-CBN before the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP) for airing the exclusive interview of MILF Commander Bravo, also known as Abdurrahman Macaapar.

Justice Sec. Raul M. Gonzalez Sr. said he believes ABS-CBN violated the Broadcast Code of the KBP since Bravo is the object of an extensive government manhunt.

Gonzales added the DOJ would also study if ABS-CBN did not violate its franchise which prohibits the broadcast or airing of interviews that tend to incide sedition or rebellion against the government.

Gonzalez cited the statements of Bravo -- “Magkakaubusan ng lahi” and “Amin ang Mindanao” amid the shouting of his cohorts.

According to the DOJ chief, said statements were answers to the “loaded question” of ABS-CBN reporter Jorge Carino, asking what Bravo would do if they fail to get what they want.

Gonzalez said Carino may also be summoned to explain on the issue.

Gonzales hinted that ABS-CBN should provide the government with information about the whereabouts of Bravo, considering that millions of pesos have been spent for his capture him.

if what my friend had told me is true. they can't capture anybody in the MILF group. according to my friend who is from mindanao. rebels and top military brass are conniving with each other. the military are selling guns and ammos to the rebels. luoy ang mga ultimong sundalo, sila ray giluto sa ilang kaugalingong mantika. sakto ang mga magdalo.

i think there is some truth to the fact that there is some form of connivance between the military and the moro rebels. but this seeming connivance occurs in the top command level. the soldiers in the field, including the generals and other field officers, are also subject to the power play between people who wear coats and tie or a barong tagalog. this war is not between soldiers and rebels, they are mere pawns in a power play... previously, i have always wondered why the well-armed AFP with all its military might which is backed-up by armored personnel carriers and helicopter gunships cannot supress a small band of armed mujaheedins that roam the muslim areas in mindanao. well, somebody was telling me a while back that there have been countless times when the AFP would be so close at pulverizing these rebels into tiny bits but each time they inform manila about the situation and ask for clearance to release all the firepower, manila would order the AFP to withdraw... personally, the reason why the two top rebel commanders of the MILF remain at large is because that is what the government wants. only, the government is angry now because a TV network made an exclusive face-to-face interview with a commander whom government is supposed to be going after and it is embarassing them because it makes them look like a bunch of wimps.
