MANILA, Philippines—A Filipina died in Bangladesh after she was seriously taken ill on board a plane en route to Dubai last month, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Friday.
Nurfaida Juklani Burung was on board a Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong en route to Dubai on the night of June 22 when she bled profusely, the Philippine embassy in Bangladesh said in its report to the DFA.
But Burung passed away as the plane made an emergency landing at Dhaka's Zia International Airport early morning the following day, said Philippine Ambassador Zenaida Tacorda-Rabago.
Her remains were sent back to the Philippine on June 26, Rabago said, acknowledging the assistance provided by Bangladeshi officials and carrier Dragonair Dhaka.
Rabago also extended her condolences to the bereaved family of Burung.(INQUIRER.net)
