DUMAGUETE CITY – A woman suspected to be engaged in the illegal drug trade was shot dead Wednesday by unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects in Barangay Bulado, Guihulngan City in Negros Oriental.
A report from the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) said the victim was identified as Zelsun Blue K. Behag, a resident of Barangay Poblacion in the said city.
Initial investigation showed the woman was driving her motorcycle at around noontime in Sitio Agay-ayan when the suspects, who appeared to be tailing her, shot her several times before fleeing.
The woman was brought to the Guihulngan District Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.
Based on the documents recovered from her, the victim was from San Carlos City, Negros Occidental. However, police had information that she was selling illegal drugs in Guihulngan City as well as in Vallehermoso town.
Further investigation also revealed that her former live-in partner was arrested for alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade.
The police recovered from the crime scene five empty shells and two slugs for .45-caliber. (PNA)
