Airport authorities on Wednesday said that a female body was found stuffed in a medium suitcase and was left in an open parking area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminal 2.
The suitcase was first reported as an unattended baggage at 7:50 a.m. by lady guard, Ma. Teresa Garbo, who during that time has been doing routine check inside the public parking area.
According to airport assistant general manager for security and emergency services Vicente Guerzon, the victim, who was wearing a blue blouse and black pants, was estimated to be 18 years old.
“This is the first incident that a body has been dumped at the airport’s public parking lot. We are still waiting for the progress report from the Philippine National Police since this is a criminal case,†according to Guerzon.
Guerzon added that police have found a baggage tag bearing the name of “Netz Aly Baginâ€, but he said it could not yet establish if this is the name of the victim.
Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) general manager Jose Angel Honrado believed that the body was brought and dumped at around 5 a.m. at the terminal 2’s parking area where international flights of flag carrier Philippine Airlines have started arriving.
“There was no blood stain in the suitcase when investigators from the PNP’s scene of the crime operatives checked the body and the suitcase,†Honrado said, adding “wala pang amoy ang katawan.â€
