LIPA CITY, Batangas -- Police here have arrested a 28-year-old man, who posed as member of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) donning the military uniform, inside a fast food chain along C. M. Recto Ave.in Barangay 4 in this city.
Lipa City police chief Supt. Meliton Salvadora, Jr. identified the impostor as Lloyd Christopher Endaya De Lemos, a native of Makati City and resident of Barangay Balintawak in this city.
Police investigators SPO1s Ronilo Balita, June Gonzales and Luis De Luna, Jr. said Endaya was spotted around 11:50 p.m. on Oct. 4 by the city Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team during their foot patrol operations.
The suspect was inside the McDonalds food store wearing the air force uniform inappropriately when law enforcers, led by SPO1 Fheljun Calalo, approached him.
The roving SWAT team also noticed the suspect’s military belt bag tucked on his waist with a magazine, prompting authorities to ask the suspect.
Endaya identified himself as a member of the PAF and further verification by authorities resulted in the suspect’s failure to present proper identification.
He later admitted that he is not a member of PAF as police also recovered from the impostor a military body bag with a replica of a caliber 9-mm pistol and an original magazine loaded with four ammunition for .45 caliber.
The police team arrested Endaya and brought him and the recovered evidence to the Lipa City police station for proper disposition.
The suspect is now charged with Usurpation of Authority and violation of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Law. (Jojo C. Magsombol/PNA)
