Court Orders Arrest of Quiboloy

The Davao Regional Trial Court has issued a warrant of arrest against Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC), along with five others, on charges related to child abuse. The court's decision comes after a reasonable amount of time has passed without receiving a resolution on the motion for reconsideration filed by Quiboloy's camp before the Department of Justice regarding the initial arrest warrant issued in March. Senator **Risa Hontiveros**, Chair of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality, confirmed this development.


The warrant specifies charges of **sexual abuse** and **child abuse** under **Section 5 (b)** and **Section 10 (a)** of the **Republic Act 7610**, also known as the **Anti-Child Abuse Law**. Quiboloy's co-accused include **Jackielyn Roy**, **Cresente Canada**, **Paulene Canada**, **Ingrid Canada**, and **Sylvia Cemañes**. While Cresente Canada was apprehended by the National Bureau of Investigation, Paulene Canada and Sylvia Cemañes voluntarily surrendered to the NBI on Wednesday afternoon. All three posted bail, with amounts set at **P80,000** each.


However, **Jackielyn Roy** and **Ingrid Canada** remain at large. Notably, last month, the Senate also issued a separate warrant of arrest against Quiboloy for failing to appear in the investigation related to alleged human rights abuses.
