MARCOS JR. PUSHES INFRA PROJECTS TO BOOST TOURISM by Philippine Star
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Tuesday stressed the need to improve infrastructure and policies to boost the tourism industry in the country.
In his second Cabinet meeting, Marcos Jr. cited how Singapore showed the importance of policy and infrastructure in strengthening the tourism despite limited natural resources.
“That means that it can be done. We just have to support the plan to develop all of these enabling environment – the policy, conditions, and infrastructure,” Marcos told his Cabinet officials.
The chief executive also noted that there should be an “ease” of doing business tourism, wherein everything shall be easily accessible for the people such as looking for a hotel.
He also tackled the healthcare facilities in big tourist destinations like Boracay, which he deemed could be improved, citing the arrangement implemented in beaches in Thailand and Hawaii.
