MANILA, Jan. 11 (PNA) -- The Philippine Embassy in Canberra and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) launched the “OFW Helplines in Australia,†the Department of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday.
A pocket brochure containing important contact information for Filipinos working in Australia and useful tips during their stay were distributed to remind and guide OFWs.
Beginning this year, POLO-Canberra started to provide Filipino workers in Canberra with the brochure which can be kept in the wallet for easy access at all times.
The brochure is a joint initiative of the Philippine Embassy and POLO-Canberra to ensure that Filipinos in Australia have the necessary information on hand in cases of emergency and workplace-related problems.
The brochure can be downloaded from the Philippine Embassy in Canberra’s official website (
www.philembassy.org.au) and Facebook page (@phembassyau).
The brochure will soon be available through the Philippine Consulate in Sydney and Honorary Consuls General in Darwin, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart and Melbourne. (PNA)
