DUMAGUETE CITY, Jan. 3 (PNA) –- Preparations are now underway for the staging of a massive medical and outreach mission in Dumaguete City this month.
Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo disclosed Tuesday that the medical mission will be carried out by Filipino and American doctors as part of the sisterhood agreement between Dumaguete and Alameda City in California, U.S.A.
At least 10,000 beneficiaries from this capital city and other parts of Negros Oriental are expected to avail of the free services to include minor and major surgical procedures, medicines and consultations, among others.
Around 150 medical doctors from the United States are participating in the five-day outreach mission from January 15 to 20.
The City Health Office in Dumaguete City is now conducting screening for those who want to avail of the services offered during the medical mission, which will be held at the Central Block Building of the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital and the Cong. Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Complex here.
