TUGUEGARAO CITY -- The Department of Public Works and Highways-Nueva Vizcaya Second District Engineering Office (DPWH-NVSDEO) has completed all its flood control projects with a total cost of PHP102 million in Nueva Vizcaya this month.
The flood-control projects are located in the barangays of Banganan and Calitlitan in the municipality of Aritao; in Barangay Lamo in the municipality of Dupax del Norte; and in Barangay Gabut in the municipality of Dupax del Sur.
These barangays are located in low-lying areas and are vulnerable to flooding during rainy season, said DPWH-Nueva Vizcaya District Engineer Ronald P. Reyes.
"This flood-control project will plug water inflow, thus preventing damage to the properaties, especially to the lives of the residents," Reyes added.
Reyes said they fast-tracked the construction to be ready for the rainy season. (PNA)
